Fall, 2013

Branches sway in the gentle wind. The air is crisp and fresh, the antithesis of summer heat and humidity. Mother Nature cloaks herself in a kaleidoscope of colors—umber, gold, burnt orange, scarlet.

Brittle leaves chatter about the passage of time then gently drift to earth to form a blanket of colorful memories while small animals scurry to prepare for winter, their tails swishing as they race from tree to tree gathering the bountiful harvest.

Magic is in the air. I see it in the slant of light, hear it in the clatter of dry leaves and naked branches, feel it in the bite of cold air. It’s time to take stock, assess the year gone by. Time to nurture what’s on the inside so when the warm winds of change return and Mother Nature dons her coat of green, I, too, will rejoice and thrive with renewed spirit.

  1. Lovely pictures and words. It's in the high 80's here today. I can't wait until I live somewhere with seasons!
