Six Sentence Sunday - 7/22

Here are six from Sweet Carolina.
Caro Hawkins is trying to reason with her new driver, Dell Wayne. He isn't exactly cooperating with the program.

"What part of team sport do you not understand?"
"I understand what you're saying, but you have to understand too. I'll listen, but I'm the one driving the car. I'm the one who decides what risks to take. No one else."

Six Sentence Sunday - 5/27

In this little snippet, Dell wrestles with his desire for Carolina. What do you think? Does he do the honorable thing and walk away, or does he give in and take what he wants?

She'd undone her blouse, revealing perfect breasts encased in some sort of lace marvel that married engineering with sin, and sent blood rushing to his cock with enough speed to make him dizzy. Caro's head rested on the back of the sofa, her eyes closed, her full lips parted. Images flashed through his impaired brain, and he couldn't decide which he wanted more – to shove his cock past those soft lips, or lick the sweat from her body, one inch at a time.
He stood silent, watching her breathe, almost afraid to breathe himself – afraid he'd wake and find it was a dream – a fantasy. He wasn't the man for her. He knew it in his soul, but it didn't keep his body from wanting her.

Six Sentence Sunday 5/6/12

Okay, so it's a lousy photo, but I don't have a cover for this book yet, so this will have to do!

In this snippet from my latest work in progress,
Sweet Carolina, NASCAR driver Dell Wayne has just won a race,  but he's losing the battle when it comes to staying away from team owner, Carolina Hawkins.

"You know what's killing me, Caro?" he asked as he closed the distance between them. Caro held her ground. He smelled of stale champagne, sweat with a hint of burnt rubber thrown in. It should have been nauseating, but to Caro it was the smell of victory, however won. She lifted her eyes to his as he slid one foot between her splayed ones and pressed his body into her personal space.
"Lord knows dying on the track would be easier than keeping my hands off you every day."

Six Sentence Sunday 4/29/12

Here's a snippet from Inside Heat, which just garnered a 4 Star Review from Romantic Times Book Reviews and is on the Amazon, Sports Fiction, Bestseller list.

Jeff and Jason are trying to convince Megan to give their unusual proposal some thought.

“Let us show you the house. If you decide you’d like to stay a while longer, that’s okay; but if you need to go, you can. We won’t stop you.”
It sounded so reasonable, spoken in that low, masculine voice that it sent shivers down her spine and made her hips move against his. What would it hurt to see the house? her inner vixen argued while her rational side kept silent – probably struck dumb by the feel of Jason’s erection pinned between them. God, he felt good – another reminder that sex with these two would likely shake the earth.

Six Sentence Sunday 4/22/12

I couldn't resist. Given the popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey, I thought it was time to present the other side of the power exchange - a female domme.
Here's a snippet from my novella, Still Taking Chances.

Mary Beth has restrained Elgin, and is trying to convince him to trust her.

"I’ll always see that you have what you need. You need to come now, don’t you?” She kept up a litany in her soft voice. “I’m going to let you come now, Elgin. When I tell you to, I want you to come.”
“Oh, God, Mistress…”

Still Taking Chances is available from Amazon & B&N.

Six Sentence Sunday 4/8/11

Today I've chosen to go back in time a little to my first published erotic romance - THE LUST BOAT.
I think the developing relationship between Candace and Ryan is sweet, despite the erotic nature of the book. So...here we have Candace asking Ryan the age-old question, "Why me?"

“I honestly don’t know the answer to that. When Richard introduced us, I thought you were the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. I just couldn’t let you walk away from me.”
“I’m not sure it’s really me you want, or if you just want to…you know, hook-up with someone.”
“It’s you Candace, only you. How can I prove it to you?”

Six Sentence Sunday 4/1/12

In honor of Opening Day for Major League Baseball, here's a game snippet from Inside Heat.
Imagine - Jeff Holder is on the mound - his twin brother Jason is behind the plate.

When he had it right, he focused on the image of the exact spot he wanted the pitch to go, knowing Jason’s glove would be there at the exact moment the ball arrived.
Jeff squared his shoulders, filled his lungs, brought his left knee to his chest, and threw six feet and two hundred pounds of hard muscle into the pitch. His pent up breath burst from his lips as his left foot connected with the ground. Pain traveled in a lightning bolt from his foot to the top of his head, making a pit stop in the shock absorbing knee joint a fourth of the way up. Instinct told him he’d thrown the pitch as perfectly as he’d envisioned, and with a little luck from the gods, and maybe a little diamond dust, McCree would swing and miss. It would be worth the pain in his knee to see that.

An Erotic Short Story

“Fuck, you’re tight,” he said as he pressed his cock past the barrier of muscles. Chase exhaled. He’d been fucked plenty of times, but somehow, only Carmine had the ability to make his cock harder. Maybe it was the way he wasted no time. Once he was in, he thrust to the hilt. There was never any time to adjust, just feel.

Six Little Sentences from -

Megan stared at Jeff’s retreating back. To be such simple creatures, men could be totally incomprehensible at times. First Jason, now Jeff. She felt like the ballerina in the jewelry box she had when she was a kid, wound up, and dancing in circles until she was dizzy and confused. And, like that tiny ballerina, once they slammed the lid down, completely in the dark.
She cleared the table with more than a grumble at being left to do the kitchen clean-up by herself. It would serve them both right to wake up to a dirty kitchen.

Six Sentence Sunday 3/11/12

Welcome!
I hope you remembered to set you clock forward this morning. I guess that makes it official - we've set the clocks forward, so it must be baseball season!

Here's a snippet from INSIDE HEAT, set in the world of professional baseball - one of my all-time favorite sports.

Megan has finally set aside her qualms about being with Jeff and Jason at the same time.

They kept up a litany of praise as they took her. She barely registered their words as her nerve endings sent frantic messages to her brain from every part of her body. As she lay like a limp doll between Jeff and Jason, their hands and lips made sure no part of her lacked for attention. It was like a drug, this overdose of pleasure. Could one die from too much pleasure? As her body coiled tightly around her center, she knew she was willing to die right here, right now, if only she could reach the pinnacle that was so close.

Six Sentence Sunday 3/4/12

Today, I've chosen six sentences from my new release, UNDER THE COVERS. This is the fifth book in the Lothario series.

In this scene, Bree has just used some rib bruising moves on  Drew  when he surprised her in the shower, proving you really shouldn't sneak up on FBI agents, even when they're wet and naked!

"What the hell did you think you were doing? I could have killed you!"

Drew reached for her, and in less time than it took to blink, he'd discarded her terry cloth armor and pulled her hard against him. "I doubt that, but it would be nice to see you try." His tongue captured a drop of water trailing down her neck. "Want to give it a try, darlin'?"

Six Sentence Sunday 2/26/12

Now that Spring Training is here -
A few sentences from Inside Heat.

Jason kicked a clump of dirt out of his cleats and slid his helmet into place. Goddamned hardheaded dickwad. He thought of a few other colorful names to call his brother before he crouched behind the plate and waited for McCree to complete his batting ritual. If Jeff tried to throw that sorry-assed curve ball, he’d personally cut his brother’s balls off and ram them down his throat.
McCree adjusted his crotch and raised the bat to his shoulder. Time to go to work.

Six Sentence Sunday 1/29/12

Today I've chosen six from my latest release, INSIDE HEAT.
Enjoy!

“Relax, sweetheart. Let us love you,” Jeff crooned against her ear as his hand pinioned her hips against the cushion. She opened her eyes and looked straight into Jeff’s face, hovering inches above hers. Their gazes locked. Something transpired between them in that moment. Something she didn’t understand, but something she wanted to reach for with her whole being.

Six Sentence Sunday 1/8/12

Here are a few lines from FOUR OF HEARTS, the fourth installment in the Lothario series, available now from Red Sage Publishing, Amazon, B&N and All Romance eBooks.

Fallon had been watching her husband as he spoke. She turned to Candace. “Candace, all you have to do is use your safe word and we’ll end the session, right then, no matter what. Don’t use it unless you want all play to stop, for good. We won’t go back and try again if you stop the session. It’s natural to be uneasy, but there’s a difference between unease and terror.”

Six Sentence Sunday11/20/11

Today's snippet is from the second book in the Lothario series, SHOW ME THE ROPES.

“Take off the sarong.”
“Yes, Richard.” No hesitation in her voice. She did as he commanded with efficiency. White silk fluttered to the deck and pooled at her feet. Blood roared in his ears, drowning out even the giant engines below them, and the ocean water churning under the force of the propellers.

Six Sentence Sunday 11/13/11

In honor of Veteran's Day here in the United States, I've chosen six sentences from the fifth book in the Lothario series, UNDER THE COVERS, which will release early next year.

Drew Whitcomb is an former Navy SEAL, and he's met his match in FBI Agent Bree Stanton. In this snippet, Drew is trying to convince Bree she doesn't need the handcuffs she brought along. I'll let you guess who comes out the winner in this battle. <grin>

“I’ll let you have your fun, and I won’t touch you unless you ask me to. How’s that?”
His eyes said he was serious. He was a Navy SEAL. If there was any human on the planet with the kind of self-control needed for what she had in mind, it would be a SEAL. “You really think you can let me do my worst, and not touch me,” she stated the obvious.

Six Sentence Sunday 11/06/11

Welcome! Today's six is from my Nov. 1st release, FOUR OF HEARTS.

Here, Candace is trying to convince her husband, Ryan, that what they feel for their friends, Richard and Fallon is no threat to their marriage.

“Don’t you see? The promises we made to each other are still valid. Nothing in those promises prohibited us from loving beyond just you and me. I know you won’t act on your feelings without my consent, and you know in your heart, I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do. That’s how strong our love is. I’ll do anything to keep you, even deny my love to expand to include Richard and Fallon.”

Six Sentence Sunday 10/30/11

The last night of every cruise on the Lothario is a costume ball. Everyone on board is encouraged to dress up for some role play. Since tomorrow is Halloween, I've selected an excerpt from the Costume Ball in Four Of Hearts.

Here, Fallon reveals her costume to her husband. Things have been heating up between them and their best friends, Candace and Ryan, and Richard is afraid Fallon is pushing them into something none of them are ready for.

She unzipped her own garment bag to reveal the schoolgirl outfit she’d picked up from Wardrobe this morning. Candace had an identical one.
“I think I’m going to like this.”
“I’m sure you will. Candace is wearing one too.”
His eyes darkened and she knew she had him. “Do you think that’s a good idea?”

Six Sentence Sunday 10/16/11

Today's snippet is from my current work in progress. This story is still without a title, and a very long way from being complete, so bear with me...

One hot hand skimmed her thigh, sneaking under the hem of her dress to stroke dangerously close to her throbbing parts. Another slipped around her neck, long fingers massaging her nape as the thumb stroked her jaw, gently turning her face in the opposite direction from where the other hand had come from. She found herself looking up into Jeff Holder’s eyes. Before she could form a protest, he bent his head and took her lips in a kiss that loosened every muscle in her body, and did serious damage to her moral fiber. The hand on her thigh tugged, and her legs slid open. Fingers stroked a path to her core, and she groaned against Jeff’s lips as another set of fingers joined the fray.

Based on these six sentences, should I finish it? LOL I'm eager to hear your opinion!

Six Sentence Sunday 10/9/11

Today's six are from the fourth book in the Lothario series, FOUR OF HEARTS. The book releases on Nov. 1st from Red Sage.

Ryan froze with his lips against the pulse in Candace’s neck. His erection surged with new vigor against her stomach. Why couldn’t his wife ask for something easy for their anniversary? Something like diamonds, a villa in France, hell, even an expedition to the North Pole. The image in his brain coalesced, and he knew he would give her whatever she wanted.
“You want me to tie you up?” he asked as soon as he found his voice.
